what's everyone thoughts on current and future prices?
Early 2.5's seems to sell anywhere from £22500 upwards depending on private or dealer etc.
How will the M14 effect things? granted a different amimal.
Looking at a 3R but don't fancy a £15 to £20K hit in 2 years if bought from a dealer.

You probably can't find anything at 50k that won't loose 10-15k in 2 years I'm afraid unless you are into classic's. People talk about Porsche's being in that area, but you are into GT2/3 if you want the performance of a Noble, and it seems people have lost their shirts and a few other things on some of them recently.
Even my X5 lost nearly 9k over 2 and a bit years, and they were about the best in the industry.
I think you need to be a bit realistic about car prices in general!

Fair question. I wasn't sure about this either, having a GTO3 myself and considering switching to M14 when available - would there be a sudden rush of 3/3R's coming on the market with resultant price depression? Talking with Simon at MPH05 yesterday, he reassured me that the majority of the 60-70 advance orders for the M14 are from non-Noble owners, ie the M14 is not automatically seen as a replacement. In fact production of the 3R/M400 is carrying on post-M14 anyway, so the hit you take on a 3/3R/M400 will not be too much related to the M14 itself. It is aiming at a slightly different market.
Get a Noble - 2.5/3/3R or M400 . You won't regret it.
i am seriously thinking about a noble ..... not sure about the route though either an early 2.5 or 3.0 and get the lights upgraded (better on the 3R/400 IMO) and maybe the wheels for a few £££ or bite the bullet and buy a 12 month old 3R but then i have the huge loss in 24 months or so.
Granted either way i will take a hit but my passion is cars but don't always have the high salary to do it.

No one has managed to change the front clam of a 2.5l to be the 3R style, and despite much talk, no-one seems to have managed to sort out a replacement.
Wheels are ~£2.5k new (but sets do come up on ebay fairly regularly), and there are so many other changes between the 2.5 to the 3R that you'd be well out of pocket trying to get a 2.5l up to 3R 'spec'.
As with most things go for the best thing you can afford. The 2.5s seem to be starting to level off, the prices being fetched for cars now are only 3 or 4k down on what I sold my 2.5l on for nearly a year ago, whilst 3R'as are still following the 40-50% loss after year 3 curve.
Why not find a friendly dealer (they all are) and take a 2.5l and 3R out for a test drive? You can then determine for yourself if the difference is worth it.

Darren, I'm in the Newcastle area and owned my 3R for 2 years now from new. Cannot fault it, and without doubt THE most fun and rewarding car I have ever owned and driven. You can see my car on my profile.

Darren, Go and see 3rtt's car if you have a chance. After seeing it you'll want one - belive me. The colour is just fantastic and well suited to the overall shape. Ian, I seen it at the last Rockingham event,well worth the extra effort in getting a non standard finish - Absolutely !!
