Anyone else up for putting on a bit of a noble collection?

Nick H, what about getting the M15 there as a centre stage Noble area!?

There was an event on there (Duxford) today which is what made me look.

Just sent a mail to the organiser asking if we could put on a Noble owners display. I told him that if we were allowed to make a few high speed runs up the runway, we could expect quite a few cars to attend!

Will let you know the response.

Right, I have had this reply and it looks like a goer!

Need a show of hands for those who would be happy to attend this on the 7th. Roughly, I would think it could be a 9-10am meet somewhere for breckfast near Duxford, short convoy to the site, static display for most of the day. Chance to look round the museum which is actually very good and well worth a look. The american hanger has loads of jets in and even has a real SR-71 Blackbird which is awesome to see and touch! (Yes I am a jet geek too)

We could then all leave together and go for a blast around to a nice pub and a fairwell pint.

We could leave this as a Noble only day or put it up on the PH East Anglia site too and do a Pistonheads display. (they have big banners and a mini markee)

Please post any ideas.

Dear Greg,

thanks for the email - yes you would certainly be more than welcome to attend the show! I have attached with this email a copy of the info for the event - if you would like more info or to book yourselves in, please let me know.

unfortunately, it would not be possible to use the runway (impressive though it would be!). The reason for this is that during the day we are open as an airfield to all general aviation aircraft, and it would be very impractical and costly to close the runway.

Picture of the car looks very impressive, hopefully look forward to seeing it in the flesh!

kind regards
Adam

PS. Although he says, "No runway use" I know for a fact that a previous car club meet did get let on the runway later in the day!!

For anyone who fancies staying in Cambridge the night before (the usual suspects) I have some room and there are plenty of hotels nearby. Might be worth checking if there is a trackday nearby on the Saturday. Can't see one on lotus on track or motorsport vision sites at Bedford.

Loads of interest here then!

I don't think this is going to be a goer!

"Hi Adam, yes I have managed to get the Noble Owners Club to attend"

"Great Greg. How many spots shall I reserve for you?"

"Ahh, 2 please, one for me and one for the others member of the NOC, Obes"

Seen the M15 already at the factory and can't afford one so I was not too desperate to drive for 1 and a 1/2 hours to see it again.

Glad it all went well though.

From talking to the organisers of this thing, we would really need 10+ Nobles to put on any kind of display.

I will put a link onto the PHEA bit on here and see if there are any more interested parties.

Some of us have a working life you know Greg, and leave such social arranging until the weekend.

Of course, we all know that now the suns out no-one will want to buy a sofa so clearly you've got sod all to do
