Can anyone help please!

I know, I know, I've been here before but..

The alarm on my 3R has gone off twice today (whilst parked in my drive) and now the door won't open when I press the key fob. My fear is, it will go off again overnight and wake up the neighbours
(as well as the missus). I suppose I could offer them a ride in it as recompense.

Just a guess, but is it low battery due to faulty sensor triggering alarm? Have you got the diag code from the flashing light on the dash and checked the battery charge level?

When I had an alarm prob, the diag code said it was a 'siren tamper'. It wasn't, it was the rear clam sensor that is exposed to the elements more than it could tolerate.

That clam sensor is a real pain! The connections rust up in no time (and the sensor switch fills with water every time it's washed)

It's only a simple switch so there must be something better available.

I think I've seen versions with rubber seals over them? Worth a browse of maplin perhaps? Could also protect the contacts with some heat shrink and silicon sealant.

Sounds like the low battery alarm, but worth checking the contact switches as suggested. There is a risk that it will do it again until the battery runs totally flat.

If you can, use the handbook way of getting into the car and get a charger on it. If it does it again you'll need a new battery as there is rarely a way of 'rejuvinating' it.
