Removing the front splitter
Discussion
Can anybody tell me if it's a big job to remove the front splitter. I know it's screwed on to the front clam at various points but was hoping I could do it without having to remove the clam first.
Cheers.
PS - I'm removing it because it's past it's best and bringing the look of the car down.
Cheers.

AFAIR, it's just 6/8 nylok nuts/bolts to remove and it falls off.
On mine there were 13 bolts - 4 with nuts and washers each side (open the clam to get to the nuts) and 5 under the middle section bolted through to someting quite solid-feeling.
Make sure you put all the bolts back in the clam when the splitter's off (gives a little extra protection to the underside of the clam and you won't lose the bolts - plus I'm not sure if the centre 5 bolts were doing 2 jobs so best to replace).
Result - no more grounded splitter over speed bumps

The car looks naked without it though !
I'm still getting used to the look without it. I've considered getting a smaller splitter made up, or cutting down the original so it isn't so low. No-one else seems to have noticed and I still get thumbs up every time I'm out in it.
Regarding the aerodynamic effect - the factory told me it has none and is there for aesthetics only.

No doubt you've seen these though? www.noblemods.co.uk/splitters_and_wing_endtrims.html

I hadn't but I have now... thanks for the link. I assume that the boomerangs are flat (not too easy to tell in the pix)
I notice they also do trailblazers. Hmmmm. I can see another hole appearing in my bank balance very shortly!
