Possible Track day sump oil leak
Discussion
All,
It's seems that my track day sump has developed a small oil leak. It appears that a braided (stainless steel) oil return pipe has started rubbing against part of the sump and appears to have caused a leak. This is the front lefthand side of the sump.
I shall report back when I have more info. as to which excat pipe it is. Suffice to say you can clear see that it has been rubbing against the sump and worn away the softer aluminium.

Well I had a 2.5 and was one of the first cars to have the sump - however - I then had the engine changed and went to a 3 litre which also had a trackday sump...
It is being repaired as we speak I will ask if they have taken photo - It is down at West tuning if anyone is poping by....

Well here are further developments - it's not a oil return pipe (forgive me I only looked at it for 10 seconds) It is the fuel feed pipe from the fuel tank. I've been informed that later cars are different and the pipe routing has been modified but early cars might have this problem - it will be easy enough to look if you can get under the car...
