Well done to Paul, 3rd overall in the MESCC, 1st in his class and a hard fought 4th overall in the endurance race which was one lap away from being a 3rd place, very impressive pace. Mike Gardeners (I think) M400 finished 2nd in MESCC in the motorsport class and lead for much of the race fighting off the Plans Motorsport Macintosh S2 elise.
I also parked next to a Noble in the paddock before realising it was my old one! Good to see it again
I forgot my camera but a friend got some snaps of Pauls car so I'll post them up later.

Dear All,
Well what a ball! Anyone who's ever considered going racing just do it! My first Podium, even though it was from a small grid I shall cherish my red Brands Hatch No3 Cap. In the first race I was with the leaders for the first 3 or 4 laps, indeed I had a bit of a look up the inside of the 2nd place man but decided it would be a bit too cheeky. Then their experience kicked in and they edged away. A 340R then overtook me but promptly dropped out when a mudguard fell off. Back to 3rd where I stayed despite a Motorsports Exige slowly but surely hauling me in. In the pressure of the race my technique went to pot and I reverted to braking far too early which meant he caught up under braking at each corner, followed me round each apex and then I out dragged him. He eventually blew his engine trying to get past! When I got in I discovered the brake bias valve had been set at fully rear!
The endurance race was equally fun, I qualified with my fastest ever time at Brands - 54 seconds dead (thanks to the Fastback) in 5th and at the first corner after the second start I was 3rd where I stayed until the last few laps when an Ultima drove past. He was just so fast. Most of the first half of the race I was tussleling with a Sunbeam Tiger that had SO much power. During the parade laps he was just flooring it from about 40 mph and leaving 100yds of twin tracks. Although I could stay on his tail he just drove off on each straight.
The Ferrari owners club had an excellent turnout and two races which looked great fun. One of the cars was a Testarossa, on its bonnet it had a logo "Racing on a shoestring"!
Thanks to Plans Motorsport; Graham, Carlo, Tom and john who make the car the magic carpet it is and to Matt Faulks who fettles the engine (8,000 racing / track miles and still going strong) and to Nathan and the others who's names I've forgotten who turned up to support.
I'm afraid I didn't get any video but there will be some official photos at some point.
