sorry its not Noble - convert mpg file to animated GIF

Dear Techies,
I've got an mpg file that I want to embed in a powerpoint rather like an animated gif. I've tried the freeware options and can't seem to get any of them to work (suprise there). Does anyone know how to do it and would they like to offer? Its only a 460K image file.

Do you know that you can embed a .mpg file into a Powerpoint slide as it is without the need to convert it?

Insert -> Movies and Sound -> Movie From File...
