insurance with all the added bits

Adding BOVs, new exhausts, ICs etc must impact on insurance.

What's everybody's experience with the Noble?

Competion Car Insurance haven't loaded my policy for the mods either.

M400 mods:-

FP IC.
BOV.
Dymag wheels.
Snap-Off steering wheel.
Natuillus Horn - although it's bust so the standard horn is in place.

Insurer:- Autototorque

Arguments used to prevent the premium being increased:-

BOV improves turbo life.
IC get you the HP back that you've lost when the car is hot.
Dymag wheels are significantly cheaper than the stock wheels (well they were at the time of renewal).

Result: - No change in premium

I also have their acknowlement of my list of changes on file.

That may not work - come big claim time they are within their rights to say they insured a "standard" Noble (unless you have paperwork to the contrary).

Of course, not worth mucking around if the worst happened!
Insurance companies are getting very clever at voiding policies, for the sake of a possible small rise in premium, it just aint worth it.
Using the "it was on it when i brought it" excuse wont work too well nowdays ...and is also just not worth the hassle.

Adds to safety...any chance of a reduction in premium? No...thought not.

When I smashed mine to pieces the engineer at Direct Line knew nothing about the car in the first place. Didn't know if the turbos were standard or the engine size, let alone whether a BOV or other mod was standard. Mine had a BOV from when I bought it and I didn't realise this was an add-on until I got the replacement. The insurance paid out with no fuss at all (they should have of course but you just never know when it comes to the crunch).
