presumably then there'll be XDSL?

EFM is the next big thing in LLU though

EFM: "An electronic device that is used to monitor the heart rate of the fetus before delivery" !
LLU: "Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) is the process where the incumbent operator (BT and Kingston in the UK) makes its local network (the copper cables that run from customers premises to the telephone exchange) available to other companies. Is there some sort of support team going on the rally in case of breakdowns or accidents?
How many going on the rally?
What type of cars/people?
When is the balance due?
Are secure car parking spaces reserved and will there be car parking costs at the hotels?
What if you cancel the trip or we can't make it after booking?
Do you have full booking terms and conditions which I can see?

Initially we had enough friends interested to do a dry run before getting taking bookings from the public but the date isn’t ideal for a fair few potentials so we need to make up the spaces.
If you’ve done the Gumball twice I fear that you might find our inaugural RallyTrek a little disappointing?!?

Says it all. After reading the web site and it does mention the Gumball 3000, the above does not make sense.

I'm very interested but it seems people have their reservations and it does seem suspiciously good value...
With repect to the Gumball3000 comparisons, I presume they're trying to avoid creating a thinly veiled race with the inherent risks and unwanted attention that brings. This would certainly appeal to me as I just want a well organised driving holiday.

The Rally Trek website said:
Unfortunately, due to circumstances out with our control we are going to have to postpone the 2006 inaugural rally until next year.
The initial concept behind the inaugural rally was to offer it to friends in order to refine the route and logistics before going public. Lack of numbers due to date clashes meant that we decided to go public earlier than originally intended in order to make the rally viable.
However, we have experienced unexpected delays in the legal, insurance and liability issues involved in offering a rally to the public. With time not on our side we have had to reluctantly postpone the rally in order to get all the relevant security and procedures in place.
We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause you and we hope that we can count on you continued support for the re-scheduled inaugural rally next year. We have a stand booked at the Autosport International show at the NEC in January so we’ll hopefully see you there.
