Picking my car up and just caught a glimpse of the rear of a Noble exiting with a 4 pipe exhaust and I think it had vegantune across the rear.

Sounded v. nice, anyone on here?

So nobody on here has the car but what about the exhaust system - anyone know what it is?

I think the tailpipes are one of the worst bits on a noble - they are exactly the same as a hairdresser mg tf

Vegan tune have got their own bespoke exhaust system. If you get chance to have a look at one, they are a work of art !

It's a different approach to the others out there in that the two exhaust banks are fed into a single pipe, rather than seperating them as other have done.

I for one would love to see a back to back comparison as I've been wavering on getting a new system until I'm satisfied which of the two approaches is better.

The Vegntune one sounds awesome - like a jet fighter on reheat.
They have a rolling road now so a back to back should be comparatively easy to arrange......

So ... Richard ... Gary - up for the challenge?

Would a proper back to back, mean fitting 2 different systems to the smae car?

Yes - the assumption that 2 different cars have the same power output before an exhaust change has been shown on this forum to be completely invalid. I don't think anyone would go to the trouble of swapping exhausts on the same car for the sake of comparison. But what you could do is get a sample of before and after dyno data from each manufacturer and look at the average power difference for each system.
Me -I'm just going for the Roush system!

Cheers mate - at least I wasn't dreaming then, the sound caught my attention and I only saw the rear of the car for a split second as it went around the corner.

it does sound good

Indicating a 4 pipe exhaust

Indicating a single pipe exhaust?

If this is the case, does anyone know what the 4 pipe exhaust is as seen by 350plus?
Looking around, the Plans motorsport one appears to be 2 pipe (as on Paul Cundy's car), but not seen a 4 pipe one..

Our exhaust is, as described by nickytwohats.the outlet pipes are designed as per customer requirements,as in, you can have whatever end pipes your little heart desires.
We have done 2/4/ and even 6 tailpipe finishers.....(whatever) and one with a kind of alien foxeye design on an M400.

And yes we have already done the back to back rolling road test.

Joolski has a copy of the results from the DNM racing Noble in black and white (colour actually) in his briefcase...

Now our brand shiny new dyno is up and running we will be testing all sorts of bolt on 'goodies' and, keeping records of what works and what does not.

Malcolm Bird of DNM Racing has a full data logging system fitted to his GTO3 and has also
kept a full history of the development we have carried out to his car and the results it has produced.

Just a quick note on another subject that I did not want to start a new thread with PLEASE
ask your servicing garages to change the fuel filters when they are meant to, we have had several Nobles in of late with badly blocked ones and one we had to make like Indiana Jones to dig it out from the accumulated mud in the side pod.

Given that exact problem resulted in a rather melted engine on my 2.5l I'll second that!

If the fuel filters get clogged the engine won't get enough fuel, will lean off, and melt the top end. There is nothing the ECU can do to stop this as it just assumes there is enough fuel being supplied to the injectors.

and the tanks came from SA pre-loaded with crud, Justin do you remember the muck that came out of my filter at Mallory?

So an early filter clean is a very good idea. After the first normal intervals should be sufficient.

Collecting my car in July (I hope). How soon would you suggest for a filter clean, don't want to fry it too soon after all I've waited the best part of a year to get it!!

Get the dealer to check it as part of the pre delivery check.

Hi Richard,

Is this any easy DIY job? (bearing in mind where I live and the total lack of dealers)

Is it too early to book my 3R in for its 36 month service in October?

Hi Rick,
Yup it's an easy job, ping me an e-mail at work and I will send you a step by step.
I may be on the island very soon so I could even make a house call.
All hands on deck to get some cars ready for Brands Hatch this coming weekend but after that
bookings are now being taken.
It sounds like you are enjoying the car, that's a good thing then!

Rick,

It's not that hard as Richard says, although you will get a reasonable amount of fuel spilled unless you are very lucky, so be prepared with some appropiate cloths / kitchen roll to mop it up and then dispose of them carefully!

Don't want you going up in flames

Ta,

I suspect the fuel my spray a bit if it's still under pressure - better do it with a cold engine I suppose or I may be in trouble

I'll have a look where it is tomorrow
