When I saw what joust wrote on getting his car back from Roush, I thought 'he definitely likes the new exhaust'.
Andy P from Roush has just delivered my car back and all I can say is, Joust is a wuz.(Sorry Justin!) He didn't didn't even begin to get close to describing the difference!!
Now my car was exceptionally well maintained and 2 days before the the first set of readings below it was kicking ass around Donington, simply flying past anything on the circuit. Nothing to do with pilot skill - just a truely awesome machine.
Now have a look at the figures (and here's hoping you're going to be able to see them!)
The 'Before' new exhaust shows a blippage (technical term) around 5000rpm which is a misfire and is a sign that plugs are shagged (another technical term) with power ouput showing 373bhp/342 ftlbs. For frequent trackers something to bear in mind - I change oil/brake fluid and have spanner checks frequently, but didn't change plugs since last service. So the Before and After comparison is not strictly valid as the car was also completely serviced for the 'After' -but nevertheless the absolute figures speak for themselves. Final curves showed 432bhp with a staggering 415ft lbs torque. This is with cats in situ.
Result on the road - breathtaking, staggering, mental! I would have sworn blind that the car was was tip top 'Before' especially with it's on-track performace. But, wow, it's now been transformed!
Again like all Noble associated things the service, knowledge and friendliness of the guys from Roush was fantastic. Special thanks to Trevor and Andy.
Gotta go for a drive....

Does anyone know what this would do to a 3R's performance?
Rob,
I take it you don't remember the performance improvements that we saw on the 3Rs when we first tested them.

I was lucky enough to dyno test the system today - the dyno people managed to get me in quickly when another car had problems. Unfortunately, I can't give a definitive back-to-back versus the standard system because Mark's car had a front cat that had come dislodged and had started to block the flow, so that makes a comparison useless. A second (3R) car (thanks Andy!) showed good power and torque, and against that we have a modest (25bhp, 20lbft) increase in both power and torque. However, whilst checking the fuel pressure, in line with something we would normally do and also suggested by Jools, we noticed the fuel pressure was dropping during the power run. I believe we have a solution to this but will have to confirm tomorrow and Friday on the rollers. Whilst the pressure drop is not massive, it does have a slight effect (shifted half an afr or so) on the fuelling which, whilst not unsafe for the engine, is something I'm not that comfortable with right now.
and also for the links to the graphs in ThatPhilBrettGuy's post on the fifth page about half way down (the one with the pics).
