Hi guys,
Speedo dead!
Symptoms.....Had noticed over the last few weeks that when starting the car I engaged the key with 2 clicks then de-armed the immobiliser and tracker and noticed the speedo waltzing up and down before the engine started.
But tonight, before starting the engine I did the same again and the speedo shot up to 200 MPH and died before starting. Started the car and did 50 miles on the road and all dead, nothing, zilch, zero on the MPH. RPM dial is OK.
Any idea's guys?
Many thanks.

Mine did the same, it is not the wheel sensor, it is the speedo.
If it is the wheel sensor nothing registers on the speedo, if it is the speedo, it fails like yours has.
It is really easy to replace.
There is a test you can do to check if I remeber correctly. Take the nearside front wheel off, get some black card, turn on the ignition. Now I am cr@p at this so here goes. Place the card between the sensor and the castle nut. Sorry, thick at this, but you should see it on the wheel. If you see light as you spin the wheel, its the speedo.
I know await joust to expalain this properly.

My Speedo has just died on the M3 on the way to Goodwood yesterday..
Symptons;- Speedo began to oscillate wildly between 80mph and 140mph for while and about a mile later it died..
I have not seen any movement in the speedo before I started the engine at any time..
Does this mean it's the wheel sensor?
Any advice would be appreciated.
