Starting when hot.

Hi guys,

Just a quick question. Since I have collected my car I have noticed that it can be difficult to start when it is hot (Car and weather).

This normally happens when I have been driving for a while and then switch off for a short stop (After letting turbos cool down for a short while). I then return to the car and go to start and find that it struggles to fire up. The strater motor is fine and the fuel pump can be heard to prime before starting.

Has anyone else had this happen?

I must state that it starts straight away when cold etc or when it has been left for say 15 mins or more.

A friend who is a mechanic has said that it could be the fuel evapourating in the injector rail when hot. He also said that he has had this happen with some highly modified cars he has worked on.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Have exactly the same issue with the Skyline, and was advised the same.

Maybe just leave the pump running for 10-20 seconds before hitting the start button?

Mine normaly starts 2nd or 3rd time. I just touch the starter leave it and then try again.

There were various map updates to help with this issue. You may find it will get better if you update the map assuming you aren't on the newest.
