Taken them all off except for the 55's. I thought they looked cool. And they cost about 12 whole pounds each!
Won't leave them on for too much longer though for fear of marks being left.
You know, I don't think I do have any other shots. I have shots of about 200 other peoples cars from Le Mans but never took any of mine!
I am sure that plenty of other people have shots of her though!

Watch out for the BIB. Race numbers are apparently illegal. Having said that I had a plod T5 follow me for 20 miles the other week. Spotted him early so I was very well behaved .Eeventually pull up alongside and I thought I was going to be pulled but he just gave me a nod and drove off.
I'm thinking of taking the number off but leaving the roundals and the viper stripes.

Urban myth AFAIK. I was told once that on single stage rally competitions it was a requirement to cross out the numbers imposed by the organisers, not the law. That just spread into 'race numbers are illegal' from what I can work out. J
If Joust can "get away" with having the thing at the front missing then I am sure you and me can manage to plead ignorance about the numbers.
Now, one thing that would definatly be illegal is a friend of mine who has a button under the colulm on his esprit which actually dropps the rear plate down 100 degrees when you press it.
Very handy if you miss a scamera till the last second!!

Numbers on road cars are illegal unless competing at that time in a multi-venue rally (i.e. using road sections. Single venue rallys are just that i.e. they don't use the public road but have a stage set on an airfield or similar.
A piece of black tape diagonally striking through the numbers is allowed, but to be honest most coppers don't really know the law themselves so you can likely blag it anyway !

Any chance you can point me to where it might say that in the statutes (which law is meant to prohibit that)? Just interested.... Talk about breach of Civil Libertiies! What possible justification can there be for this to have been made law? It means that a Government has spent thousands of taxpayers money, for what good reason?
Disgusted of Torrequebrada!
PS - mine still has the two white PH smilie and crossed pistons on the small side windows and the the big black one on the roof

Probably hiden away somewhere in the Construction and Use regs. I can't recall ever seeing anything in the Road Traffic Act but its a good 20 years since I looked at anything like that.

I just find it incredible it's against the law to put a number on the side of your car/personnal property. My 3R came with badges on the side, I presume those were legal for the 10 minutes it took me to get them off. Assuming they were, how big can they be before it's deemed they are illegal? The law is an arse!

Urabn myth me thinks.... Martin.
I've spoken this afternoon to [a random person who may or may not be a suitably qualified person, but yet, said person is a...... OWNA] a person I happened to meet in a bar, but it begins with a bar... and, to quote, "Bo*****s. There is no such thing".
Over to others, as they say.
