Hub Nuts

As loose rear hub nuts seem to be a reoccuring problem for quite a few people, the solution may be to use Porsche hub nuts! I had a loose near side rear hub nut, long brake pedal travel, squeaks etc. Replaced the offending nut, still came loose, replaced the bearing and nut, still came loose!

Vegantune mentioned Porsche hub nuts fit the Noble, although they didn't know what model they were off. I popped down to the Porsche centre Cambridge, and possibly spent the least amount of money anyone has done there, £2.86 + VAT.
The nuts are from the Boxter (possibly other models) part number: P999.084.641.02 LOCK NUT.

So far it seems to do a much better job at locking than the original ford(?) nut, given it a good caning and hasn't budged.

Will not fit and alot more expensive - kkk's I believe - my brother has them... although he is thinking of but GT2 turbo's on.

I'm guessing that these go on all 4 hubs and not just the rears.



Also, how does one tighten it up to 270 nm's? My wrench only goes to about 210 nm's.

A 210nm wrench is about £40 a 300nm one is about £240, and I think I may use it about once a decade.

i had a hub nut come loose,sounded like my brakes were grinding.ive tightened it up n loctited it, fingers crossed.

Popped into the Cambridge Pork dealer and ordered 4 nuts from the sexy receptionist as parts dept. was shut. (as I expected)

Not really thinking it is going to fix my problem but at least it'll fix one possible future one.

Lovely 997 GT3 in there.
