I wanna tell you a story...

My first car was an Avenger. It had an 8 ball gear knob a starsky & hutch style stripe and I drove it like a nutter – had a few mishaps with a hedge and a ditch.
Then I progressed onto a Sierra 1.6 coupe with the nastiest body kit you have ever seen – a true pimp mobile in gold a red – nice [not].
Then a fiesta XR2 mk1 a great car unless you hit a long puddle, in which case you aqua planed and couldn’t see where you were going – interesting on the motorway.
Then an XR3i with the ‘ground breaking’ lucas-girling mechanical anti-lock system, which was great, if you liked rear-ending other cars in mildly damp conditions.
Then a 528 mk1 [nice car] followed by a 735 mk2, which was rather like driving around in a rocket propelled lounge.
Then a Saab 9000 turbo with leather seats and no aircon - which was like a rocket propelled sauna.
Then a 328i convertible [disappointing] followed by a Mercedes CLK 320 convertible. The Merc was a great car – comfortable, span up nicely, ate the miles and did everything I needed it to.
Just over 2 years ago, following a visit to the Nurburgring, I decided I wanted a 'proper' car. However, having to run the CLK for another 2 years, I had to be patient and wait for what seemed like an eternity.
Until today, after months searching for the right car with the right bits on [helped by the good people of Pistonheads.com] I drive home in a Noble M12 GTO 2.5. It is FANTASTIC!! The sound, the acceleration, the drive – all awesome!! I am going to be driving this car everyday, come rain or shine, and I feel like the luckiest b*stard in the world
I can’t wait to take her round the ring next year. I look forward to meeting you all at various hoons & events. Thanks very much for your help and advice so far – it has been invaluable

I parked up on the exit slip-road at the A3 services en route to Goodwood this morning. An Italian family stopped alongside and caused a huge queue behind them (which they completely ignored!) whilst they sat open-mouthed pointing at the mighty M12. My mate's 360 didn't quite have the same effect (If I'd had my camera ready I'd have captured a photo of yet another group of people passing a Ferrari to gawk at an M12!)

Pics to come - it's Portofino Blue. Spec is 2.5, LSD, New ECU, TDS on order [Noble are out of stock for 4 weeks] and will get MS fuel pump fitted at the same time. Then, it's track time!
I've a few bits to sort out still, but all good so far!!

Hi Bondy, I saw you note but thought you were undecided mate! Funny as I asked the gatekeeper whether he'd seen any Nobles
The weather en route was atrocious but it stayed sunny just for the two hours I was there - lot's of Americana especially vettes.
Well done mate...glad to see you finally found one...did you get all you wanted for the budget?
I'm just organising plate transfers for mine...painful, very painful...after a few years placating the wife and kids with a convertible I think I will be returning to the fold in an M15 if any are let go.
