Apologies if this has been posted on here before. Thought the Nobility might like this...

Pick your cars and race for fun - www.jsread.com/tvr/quartermile.html

There’s a Noble 2.5 on the list [of course]. It’s interesting to see how it fairs against the opposition

Excellent. I just ran the Boxster against the slow old 2.5 and guess what. The boxster lost

Of course if it had been the S the Noble wouldn't have stood a chance

Tuscan 4.0 vs M12 is a good one.

How difficult is it to do your own desktop drag race?

I'll ask my cousin who's a programmer if he can do a simple database. As I don't know all the standing 1/4 mile times i'd use 0-100...maybe even 0-100-0.

Hopefully one of you will have done it before me because you'd no doubt do a far better job

Also according to Autocar (the only review noble cars witnessed) 0-60 is 3.9 not 4.1.

Well the figures for a standard V8S look spot on, shame I can't feed in my new power curve/gearing and see how that performs.

PM me and when I reply attach an image and I'll feed the bhp curve into CarTest 2000 and let you know how that compares to a standard "S".

Last one I did was Seasiders Griff and the top speed was bang on what he actually did at v-max. By changing the diff ratio after that also found out the true top speed as the standard gearing wasn't optimal.
Given a certain coefficient of friction (there are two actually, static and kinetic (stationary and moving)) it can work out the optimum launch rpm too

Richard.

Have a look at

www.motortrend.com/roadtests/virtual/112_0611_dream_drag_race/

You will need to download a small .exe but the result is quite impressive...

It's not that difficult, though i did use some maths behind it.

I'm actually working on a much, much, improved version, with about 200+ cars to choose from. It will have a lot of new features and a much improved physics model. It's been some time since i updated the current one. I reckon i've got a few months to go before the new version is ready.

Yes - very good! clap Let us know when you've finished the new version - with the 3.0 & M400 Nobles on there too - plus the Autocar stats on the 2.5
