IIRC mine was £1500 and one of the most expensive screens that autoglass in Cambridge had fitted. (i had a 125 excess instead of 50 as the screen was more than 500 squids)
When/if you get it done by a standard outfit loke autoglass, insist on having their special bloke do it.
Most companies have one guy who they get to do all the posh cars who is better than the rest. Its also vital that you point out just how easy it is to scratch the dashboard.

You are correct; there is a UK supplier and availability is not an issue on front screens.
Thank god I don't have to wait 12 weeks, couldn't control myself not to take the car out within that time. The crack has only come up about 3 inches from the driverside front wing bolts, so I might just leave it for a bit, its not that bad but knowing its there is irritating, something I can put up with for now though. Knowing my luck I'll have a new screen fitted and then it will end up getting hit by a massive rock on the motorway.
The screen is laminated and will only go, in as much as the crack may spread across the screen; the glass will not disintegrate or fall in on you like the old toughened screens. The screen is bonded to the vehicle and safe to use in it's current state although obviously not as designed.
