GTO 2.5 and 3 Headlights

try as I might I cannot find an aritcal refering to the 2.5 and 3L headlight bulb types (ie non 3R & m400). All the searches I did found info either about the 3R and M400 or the rear 'after burner' lights.

Could some informed soul please tell me what the dipped, main beam and side lights are for the GTO2.5 or GTO3?

Sorry, sure it used to.

I think the dipped beam are H4 but not 100% sure, search on bulbs in this forum over the last 3 years and it returns loads of threads.

I did find this thread but does it not refer to 3R / M400 lights?

Nathan's was a 3 mate and he put the vision plus ones in.

But I think they were H4 not H7 which is the 3R fitting??? They do visionplus in loads of sizes. Justin will know for sure.

Guys,

My manual says the Headlights (dip and main beam combined) are H7 55W.

Side lights just says 5w.

There is a post on here from one guy saying the manual is wrong though and he bought H7 but needed H4, just to confuse things further!

I bought Visionplus H7 .Asked the factory to fit them at the last service and they said they didn't fit. As they'd taken them out of the box I guess they tried

Not sure now if it's right or wrong but here's the page from the manual, Might be best to ring noble!!

Just been out for a drive. I upped to the phillips H something ones that are 50% brighter and also got them raised up. They are fine now for normal driving at night, buut not really bright enough for pressing on when the sun is sleeping.


I just found that out as I tried it, and kept nearly killing myself. I think I may have actually had a small accident in my y fronts.



Bloody heck Noble's are fast! Or at least, mine is now.

Well guess what the manual is wrong - I have just looked in my manual and also taken my car apart - the bulbs in the car are 55W H4's

How do you get the bulb out. I had a go some time ago and it seemed far too much aggro. I managed to remove the rear cover under the clam, then pull out the housing but couldn't see how to get the bloody bulb out.

FYI, the Philips bulbs may be avaiable on a booth at the upcoming MPH Show (NEC or London). When I saw them last on a booth at the Motor Show in Excel, London they were going for half price (£15 the pair).

There are three screws/bolts that hold the glass to the plastic surround - 2 of them are desigined so that they can adjust the angle of the light - you don't need to touch these. Just unscrew the third one and then twist the light to remove it (you have to see to understand what I'm on about!) then you can remove the bulbs from the rear.
