Yep -had same issue. Just replace belt and it'll be fine (WD40 is a NoNo for belts according to those in the No)

I've only had mine for a month and I've already had a new belt fitted for that very reason ( well, almost ). I had a bit of stone lodged in the grooves on one of the pullys. It was on the outer edge and it ripped the edge of the belt off. I suppose if it has but lodged in a grove in the middle it would have shreaded the belt.

Yes, my dad and brother repelled in horror when I mentioned WD40 for a squeaky belt/wheel - it did the trick though....

Yes, WD works fine but silicon spray is best.
When I collected my car from the dealer it had a squeaky belt on start up.
The salesman said no problem, a bit of silicon spray will sort that. He sprayed what could only be a small amount on the running belt and it jumped straight off the pulleys! Have to say I wasn't that impressed that the car had broken before I'd even driven a mile!
The dealer had to recall their chief engineer who's day off it was to replace the belt. No squeaks since a new belt was fitted though and no problems with the car either.
