that looks like a neat lampost sized hole in the front space frame. This isn't Adrain's car then?
It is Adrians.Phew just as everyone thought another wheel had gone........
might have been better to have made that clearer at the beginning?

Course it is, Rib still hurts, car is at Gary's. I took the pictures today.
The more i look at that wheel the scarier it feels. The consensus is that the wheel broke, rim went inward locking the suspension and the diff locked both wheels causing the car to literally jump at the barrier.
Look at the scratches on the wheel, I’m sure the scratch on the rim was done by the recovery company.

Adrian, at about 10:30pm as you look at the first pic of the wheel it looks like a flat spot? Do you know if this was pre or post the jump?

Paul, thats the ding im talking about, im sure it wasnt there when we were carefully putting the car on the lorry, unfortunatly i was'nt there when when they unloaded it, i watched them bend the front outrigger and stopped them, apparently they are not allowed to carry trolly jacks for helth and safety reasons.

I had a partner at work whos Saab needed transporting back from spain. When they off loaded it they plonked it onto a bollard and stove in and upwards the entire underfloor. Its the same sort of horror story but you ask "how the hell did they do that and not realise?"
Adrian, is the Gary the ex Vegantube Gary and dose this mean its being rebuilt?
Regards

Dunno yet the insurance co have just given the go ahead to strip it, if thay do write it off it'll be the basis for that race car i'm looking to build.
Yes it's at Gary Reynolds aka Crazy Horses racing in Potters Bar just about the best Noble specialist around. When he left Vagentune all there expertise went with him.

I'm not sure how, with 500hp on virtually cut slicks in torrential rain "on standing water and an oil slick" and what looks like clear evidence of impact on the wheel rim while it was in motion, there can be any concensus that the wheel just failed.
From Pirelli:
Hit deep water - with or without the oil slick - in almost any sports car and you can get the effect of it jumping sideways. I think you were just unlucky.

Caution: The P Zero Corsa is not recommended for driving on extremely wet roads where there is the risk of hydroplaning.

Fair comment, except that i'm used to playing in the wet on that setup and at the time of the crash i was crawling along. Also the car didnot behave as normally expected.
