On the car front, I think I might import something as they're so cheap, even allowing for import tax, VAT and shipping.

BVI has the "highest marlin strike rate in the world" according to their blurb - you can't not enjoy being on a boat in the Carribean with men beer and gadgets ... with your reputation.

Can't comment on the Carribean as I was in the Florida Keys (although Cuba is only 90 miles from Key West) but a day out fishing in the sun is a great laugh.

Thanks for the advice... think I'll give it a go. There's a good chance we'll be in the BVI's as haven't agreed the itinerary yet. All I know at this stage is that we'll be in St Barts for New Years Eve
