Can't remove wheel nut...

... on my Merc. The locking nut of the five is seized and Kwik Fit smartly decided not to push it what with 3 days to Christmas as they felt it may snap off! Need to get the wheel balanced so thought I'd try hitting it with a hammer and long bolt or similar. Have also purchased some bolt freeze releasing agent stuff from Halfcruds.

Any advice greatfully accepted - have to go out tomorrow and freeze my nutmegs off trying to release it!

Use a jack.

Impact driver with correct size socket and a 4lb lump hammer should do it!

yep, if your going to spray some stuff in it, try plusgas

Got a can of Loctite Seize Freeze (or something!) - amazing stuff - spray it onto locked part and it freezes to -42 de (hmmm!). Anyway it freezes the space between the parts expanding them - waited 2 minutes, did it again and... bolt off pronto!
