Just got a letter from Tracker saying they have taken this years subscription. So the car got crashed in November, has been moved three times on a lorry, been jacked up several times and been moved around a workshop without starting lots of times. They havent contacted me once.
Suggest everybody with a tracker phones them and says "can you see my car" as obviously they dont bother checking.

Noble collected mine on their low loader about 4 weeks ago, got a phone call from Tracker within about 10 to 15 minutes to ask if I was aware the car was on the move.
Having said that you at least were notified that they had taken your subscription, I did not know they had taken mine until my card statement arrived.

I had exactly the same problem with mine. RAC recovered, ignition off, no phonecall and they can't see it if it's undercover.
I am thinking of running a test when I finally pick mine up from CrazyHorses and not take the wee credit card thingamajiggy and see whether or not they phone.
Who knows ...

Depends what package you've got - if you are on Tracker Retrieve (basic) then you have to phone them to let them know the car has been nicked. They will then trace it. Tracker Monitor and Horizon packages come with a motion sensor which will alert Tracker that the car is on the move so long as the key is not in the ignition. When mine is being trailered somewhere I usually get a call within 10-15mins. On one occassion I didn't get a call - phoned Tracker to enquire and arranged for an engineer to came out and test the unit (at home). Apparently I had an 'old type' motion sensor which was knackered and so was replaced FOC. All done at my convenience, so I'm very satisfied with the service.
Also bear in mind that the back-up battery only lasts about 4 weeks if main battery is disconnected/flat/removed as would be the case with yours (presumably).
I've got Tracker Horizon. My point is that we dont know if the unit or there system is working, they keep taking the money but dont appear to check the integrity of the units they fix to our cars.
Funnily enough i once bought a car with a tracker fitted and to change over, they wanted nearly the same amount of money to check the box, they would not transfer the car without checking the installation which they did six months earlier.

I had mine on tracker and to their defence I was called every time it was moved, and it got moved a lot. Basicaly thet never missed it once. On one occasion when the car had a termional electrical drain they rang me whilst I was in the cab of the AA truck with the car on the back. A very different experience to those above.

Whenever the car has been moved not under its own steam (eg on flatbed) I have had a call within 10 minutes to ask if everything is ok.
Can't say they've ever called when the alarm has gone off, and AFAIK the tracker is not related to the alarm. Thought I was subscribing to the top level service so I would be interested to know whether there is an alarm link.....
Interesting - I think they've been superb historically (called me every time it was moved without starting or the battery was disconnected)
Until December I had about 60 calls over a 10 day period - the car was in my car park / garage every time un moved and fully batteried-up.
I wonder if there's a technology upgrade going on or something similar?

Think this happened when I diconnected the battery to go on holiday. I push the car out of the single garage to work on it. On reconnection the alarm went off and I got calls to ask if it was OK.

So its quite likely that the movement triggered the thing rather than the alarm being activated, n'est pas?.
Hhhmmm I seem to remember that every 3 years you have to shell out for someone to check it out. They must activate it and have a local receiver I guess. How you check between those dates? Dunno, keep ringing them up and asking where's my car? No a great solution I'd agree.
Saying that, we could have done with that when we lost your Lexus at Santapod....twice!

Disconnect the battery, push the car to the end of the drive/road and re-connect. They should phone you within a couple of minutes.

So did they not think it a bit suspicious that it had never moved?
Are you going to ask for a refund of the monitoring that you don't appear to have had?
You don't think Yelloshed has somehow created an electronic blackhole around your car with all those green wires that even a tracker can't escape out of. Hmm, a Tracker immobiliser or an electronic invisible cloak......Yelloshed ought to be talking to those east end boys......
