Car booked in with Roush
Discussion
Some of you may have read my previous post regarding high speed instability, feels like cross winds from the rear of the car 70mph or faster. Plus a faint whirrrring ocassionally.
Well, i've checked all suspension joints the best i can, d/s nuts, wheel bearings etc. And it's just been MOT'ed. Factory serviced 3000 miles ago. Shortly after service went on Megahoon, and the car was fantastic.
Only change i've made since then is rear tyres. No SO3s around, so on advice bought RE040s. Surely can't be the tread patterns??
Anyway, called the factory to book it in. They are not taking any service work for at least 6 weeks due to redecorating the workshops (or similar)
so called Roush.
Booked in with them. Suspicion is possibly an issue with a joint half way along o/s driveshaft??
AND
I'm getting a Roush exhaust system made for my 2.5
Piper RS are making it on the car. Full turbo-back system. Believed to be the first 2.5 to get one.
So thanks to Piper and Roush for the calls and inter-company arrangements.

You sure it's not the diff? do you have the std diff for the 2.5.

Someone here mentioned the diff as a possibility before, but neither the factory nor Roush nor me could understand how the diff could cause my problem.
Care to explain?? I hope it isn't the diff!
When mine went, every now and then (normaly going around roundabouts) the car would suddenly understeer. I also got the odd clunk when slowly moving in reverse.
Thats as technical as I can desctibe it I'm afraid.

Peter, do you mean that you have SO3's on the fronts and A048's on the rears?
I would think that could be your problem if you have! Also, check that the rear 048's are running in the correct direction.
Both could adversly affect the cars handelng, especially at speed.
More than likely the diff or hub carrier or ball joint though.
My front o/s hub carrier cracked and Kerridges would'nt even let me drive it. They came and got me on a flatbed.
