A Noble Interest
Discussion
So there I am in Windsor, filling up with V-Power after taking in a few B roads on Saturday and this man next to me asks if I’ve tried BP102 RON fuel (available near the Ace Café apparently). We get chatting - he’s seems a genuinely nice chap. He walks round to the front of the car and says "I didn’t realise it was a Noble" - seems very interested. “I thought it was some sort of Lotus” (heard that before) “not seen a Noble up close before”. More chat ensues – we talk about the Nurburgring. He tells me about driving his Carrera GT round there in 2005. Then says he’s got Zonda on order for July. Gives me his number and says to call him to arrange a meet to look at the cars.
Nice that the Noble is appreciated by someone who can have more or less anything it seems - good man!

I think I saw that, he had 2 koenigseggs and a third on order or something !
He also had a CLK DTM
IIRC he'd had a carrera GT for a few months that he "Just hadn't had time to have a drive in yet" !!

I remember that. I think it was on 5th Gear, lives somewhere in the South i believe.
Personally I thought he as an idiot though, he didn't talk once about how awsome they were to drive, just about how he liked to go down to his garage after a hard days work and sit there with a glass of wine admiring them
. I can't even keep away from driving a £1k 205 GTI i've just got, let alone a garage full of some of the most desired exotica in the world. I think its a waste...IMO of course.obes said:

I remember that...he said he had little time to drive but the car collection served as a "gallery". He goes to his garages(!) in the evenings to stroll around the cars, admiring their shapes/forms etc....quite relaxing!

i used to have a 205 GTI back in the day - it was some real fun
if i still owned it i would turn one into a trackday car

I had one of those too.....i keep thinking of getting another one? for fun!
I'm having a lot of fun in this one. Remind's me of an S1 Elise (strange I know), but its all the rattling and stiff suspension and chassis brings back memories of the car I learnt to drive "properly" in. It's a different kind of fun to the Noble as well, thats expesive s**t your pants scary fun, this is cheap not-so-scary fun.

Have to find out who he is. I reckon he needs someone to take them for regular runs - just to keep them in in tip top order

Although the higher end of the car market can sometimes be used as in investment, certainly in the not too distant past. Still seems weird to me though.
