Toyo T1-R's

Hi All,

Need some rear boots soon and have had these on another car and thought they were very good. Don't use the car on track or in wet weather much so after an all round grippy dry tyre for the road.
Comments good or bad most appreciated.

I've not tried them on the track yet and can't comment on the warm/hot weather performance either but I've got T1-R's on mine (Front and rear) and I've not had any problems with them yet in the cold, damp or wet conditions of the past month or so.

I wouldn't recommend having different tyre types front and rear though as it is likely to upset the balance of the car, but it also depends on how hard you drive the car.

I was told the side wall on the Toyo's are not stiff enough for a Noble!?!

had toyo's on lotus... total disaster... actually just got rid of them.

Toyo came up for possible replacements on noble rears... Giles was on the phone to Lee noble at the name... Lee's response was... "puh!" ...

Says it all?

My limited experience says no!

Had no issue with Toyo on other cars, up to and over 300 bhp. cant understand why they could not take the nobles weight? i know in the T1-S they had a TVR specific tyre which had a stiffer sidewall, i had a set of those and couldnt tell the difference when upgraded to T1-R.

I believe the sidewall issue is down to cornering g.
I've got some yoko 048's on at the mo and they're pretty good.
Although to get the best out of these cut slick type boots you really should look at some nitrons or such

hmmmm,i just put Toyo Proxes R888 all round on mine....hope these dont let me down.seem good on the road,haven't used them on track yet.

i can't speak with regard to nobles, but my skyline and many others have worked very well with them.

R888's are awesome, seen them put up some serious power and abuse and just lap it up on track.

Thanks mate, likewise you've got the 2 cars i'm currently after!

I'd be VERY surprised if you were remotely dissapointed with R888's in all but the wettest weather.
Even then they're pretty adequate for what barely qualifies as a cut slick compared to the dunlops i've heard nothing but positive reviews from everyone, which is why i'm going for them
totally different breed of tyre to the T1-R's etc.

I'd get the camber sorted first (Roush/Plans about £1000); then you'd use all the tyre.

Cheers fella...i assume your not talking about the Pug 206 hdi in the piccie though only the Noble is mine....the GT3 aRSe belongs to the old man.we have a big driver rivalry in our family and always try to out do each other...at trackdays we avoid and ignore each other

Hi Dave, Just about to put T1-R's on the rear of my 3R. I have these tyres on my Integrale and they are fantastic in all weathers so not bothered about putting them on the Noble at all, I'm sure they will perform very well indeed. If your not in any rush to change them I'll let you know what I think in a few weeks. They get some SERIOUS stick on the Lancia and are more than up to the job. Integrale's are very heavy on tyres so I'm sure they will be alright on my plastic car!! Cheers David.
