Rousch or Noble Motorsport
Discussion
Rather than going on highjacking the "Second Hand Nobles are too expensive" thread...
Does anyone have any opinons/experience/advice they'd like to share on the above.
I'd like a big power upgrade (450 - 500 bhp ish) and some TLC on the whole car whilst it's in bits.
So - some say Trevor some say Noble Motorsport....
Feel free to PM me if you'd rather not be public about what you'd like to say.

Roush - The quality of their exhaust in second to none, and it gave me over 40 horses more! - Check out their web site: www.roush.co.uk/

My comment was based on experience of both. JNM were a long long way ahead.

Why?
This is my personal experience, so don't flame me.
With JNM, It was a case of been there done that. Pete Dibble and his team were just so on the ball, and having done all the development work for the M12/M400 it was clear that they knew how the car should function.
It's easy to crave power power power, but what impressed me the most about JNM, was they way they went about ensuring that car would function correctly for a given power output. And if they had any reservations, I was informed and a solution was discussed. Any issue with I did not understand, Pete very clearly explained and gave me his reasoning.
They also have their own rolling road, and really know how to use it to the full. Including a water cooling system for the M12 intercooler so that can ensure that the induction temps match real world.
As a result of spending 1/2 a day with them, the car (2.5L) was producing 362bhp and running like a dream. After an exhaust and turbo upgrade we now have 382bhp and it's been totally reliable.
This experience takes time, and Pete and his team support some pretty balistic M12's. And they never miss a beat.
Rousch, I have no doubt are gaining valuable experience. But as far as I'm concerned, Pete Dibble and his team are a cut above the rest.

I'm sure JNM are fine, but all my dealings have been with Roush.
They went the extra mile with my rather unique car, sorting a number of totally unforeseen problems. Every M12 is different and they're well aware of this. There engine really is something else, and I'm sure all the work they've done on other Duratec installations on marques other than Noble has allowed then to think 'out of the box' with modifications.
No company is perfect, but when I've had issues with them they've sorted them out quickly and to my satisfaction. You can't ask for more really.

I think That Roush/Mountune are the acknowlidged experts in Ford Duatec tuning and development, they have the advantage of a long running bussines relationship with Ford. They also support Duratec based race teams.
I thought the M400 glossy said that Roush did the Development/callibration for the M400
My experience with Roush has been excellent. I believe Roush also did the M400 development, not JNM.
I have no experience directly of JNM except were responsible for the design of the 2.5l engine. That engine suffered three major failures, all design issues, and despite JNM rebuilding it twice it wasn't until Trevor personally was involved in remapping and sorting out many issues that the engine lasted longer than 6 months.
As I have no real way of knowing if that was JNMs fault or not it is hard to lay that down at their door, but from my perspective it wasn't until Trevor turned up that my engines stopped blowing up.
On that basis I'd personally give Trevor the job of doing anything 'upgrade' related to a Duratec engine.

Interesting. My experience was the exact polar opposite.
But, as I stated earlier, everybody seems to have had different experiences.

Seems so, the press information and data sheet from Noble on the M400 quotes Roush as the developer of the engine map. www.nobletv.co.uk/Pictures/Factory%20Press%20Images/M400/M400%20Mailer.pdf

JNM did the development work for the M400 engine.
Despite what anybody else might say to the contrary.

The original development work, including internals setup etc was done by JNM.
I'm not sure how many of the original M400's had JNM engines, then Rousch did the rest.

So is anybody prepared to say what it would cost for Roushe to convert a standard M400 into a 550HP beast?
Having seen Richard 'Chillidog's' car driven in anger I have to say that whatever they've done to it was extremely effective!
My supercharged elise will do a verified 8.0 sec 100 and he was leaving me for dead down the straights
