Part number

Hi fellas,

I have finally finished revising for my promotion exam and now have time to tinker with the Noble.

I need to replace one of the Lambda's. I have just been to a Ford garage and was told it would be £126 +vat and that it appeared to be the one for the 200-220ps mondeo, which is a 3l. So I got looking elsewhere for a better deal but all I can find so far is a four lead (Which I believe the 3l is) for a 2.5l. Does anyone know if this lambda is the same?

Also do they differ for each bank?

Or does anyone know what the part number is? I should have asked while I was there, DOH!!

Just took a look through it's history and found that a lambda was replaced by Vegantune when doing the BOV. They charged £79.60 for the part which is a lot cheaper than Ford quoted

Got to change it soon as the car idled rough for a few moments today when I started it up. Apparently a sign of the lambda being faulty?

Does it run rough on hot start or cold start? The lambda isn't read until a warm engine so if it's cold start it's not that. Mine runs rough (poor idle) when hot started, clears after 100 yards or so at the next junction. Also has stalled a couple of times too. Next job is to clean the throttle butterfly and see how it goes then.

The car idled rough on a hot start. It only lasted about 1 min or so then cleared.

Had also noticed that a couple of times it has gone to drop its revs to stool (When throttle first applied) when started from very cold. Again once it had idled for a very short while it was all good. I'm sure someone on here once said this can be a sign of the lambda being faulty.

Lambda, blown turbo gasket, manifold lead or could be an issue with the throttle potentiometer, but that is very very rare.

Any Noble service centre can check if it is the Lambda.

Mine's the same on hot start, had this on other cars and cleaning the throttle butterfly has cured the prob. Gunna try on mine and I'll let you know, hopefully have done this by Wednesday.

How do you know it's the lambda sensor?

BTW: Price sounds about right and they're the same on each bank AFAIK.

Easy to tell if you have the diagnostic software though!

Yea, I was hoping he'd say he'd attached the laptop and found it was reading close to zero volts

Thanks for all the advice guys.

The reason I knew that a lambda was faulty was due having it tested at a friends garage with the Emissions tester.

I have just ordered one from Noble and it was a lot cheaper than Ford at £82, instead of £126. Should be with me by Thursday and will do the deed at the weekend!!

D&G, I think I will clean my throttle butterfly aswell.
