Guys,
Need a bit of guidance here please.
I start the car and the idle revs are 1k. That's fine - it is constant. I then drive around, the car warms up and then I find the revs 'pulse' from 800 to 1k revs and it sounds horid. It never did this before. Also notice and hear a bit of exhaust burbling and popping whilst stationary.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance,
JAZ 34

First job is to clean the throttle butterfly..
Take off the intake pipe from the intercooler to the engine, get someone to open the throttle wide open and I use a toothbrush and carb cleaner (and rag). Try not to spray too much into the engine although it won't harm it, it will start badly and run rough for a few seconds.
Let it idle for a few minutes to stabilise itself and away you go.

I did this and afterwards my car iddled at 1800rpm I then had to adjust the idle screw to get it back to 800rpm. Just goes to show how much crap builds up on the butterfly.

Thanks DG,
Anyone got photo's of what I am looking at for the cleaning?
Also found that the exhaust bracket has snapped! That might explain a lot of the noise I am hearing at the back of the car. Looks like it has been snapped for a while....

The brackets snap like clockwork I've Mig welded mine twice on one end and once on the other in three months (2500 mls)of ownership.
My car is at Roush being fitted with their stainless sytem as I write.

That will be your problem. With the bracket snapped the turbo takes all the weight meaning you get leaks. Get it checked out end to end by one of the normal service centres (Plans, Roush etc.) ASAP. J
