Finally hooked up my dusty old scanner and got these loaded up.
The first shows my first run a few months ago before Trevor had mapped anything. It was pretty good for a totally standard 3R. 340 bhp and 350 ft lb.
The higher line shows the car as is now with Roush exhauts, pump upgrade and another re-map at Track and Road. Trevor has upped the spark meaning it now can't run on less than 97 ron fuel.
Its got a healthy 376 bhp and 394 ft lb of torque. This is the impressive figure as it is at max torque from 3500 rpm which is very useable and 1000 rpm lower in the rev range than most M400's which hit about the same figure.
Overall the exhaust and map session has gained me 26 bhp and 45 ft lb but thats not all that the exhaust does. Its totally different to drive, so much more free revving. The noise is awesome (and was 98 - 99 db static at Bedford where the limit is 101 db) (never tripped the noise meter either, I have both cats in)
You really have to drive a Roush exhaused and mapped car to feel and hear why its worth it.
This graph is a true representation of what the exhaust does alone.
The lower line is the best Trevor could get from my car pre exhaust and being safe. At that point I didn't know if I could ever afford the exhaust, I just got the new pump and loom and a mapping session.
The higher line is the first power run we did post exhaust. Thats before Trevor did anything else to the map, so it shows only the difference the exhaust made.
Once the new exhaust is on, then Trevor could map more power out of the freer flowing system.
It gives an extra 15 odd bhp and no higher max torque but it does sustain the max torque level for far longer giving more useable real world power.
The initial bill I got was pretty bloody large and its no cheap mod, but it does give a huge difference to the way the car goes, there is much more "throw your head back" power now whicvh is worth it all.
Spending the cash just means that I'm going to keep the car for a few more years to come. Still can't think of anything else I'd rather have.

If the graph has RPM on it you can work it out (because HP doesn't really exist). HP = (Torque * RPM)/5252 (more or less).......

.The standard fitting exhaust system has always been a bit of a let down, in pure performance terms. I'm on my third exhaust system, the first being the original 2.5 routed through the diffuser, the second being the GTO3 based system. I now have a stealth system, which I've been very pleased with.
Most of the aftermarket systems have a larger bore and have freer flowing cats fitted, and reduces back pressure.
The knock on effect being that the engine revs more freely, and has a much better power delivery.
The only down side is that the aftermarket systems tend to be louder than the standard system. I've got used to it now, but when you do get back in a car with an original exhaust system it seems sooo quiet !

Hope you get it sorted Paul. I and a few others have found the RR you went on reads under and gives odd figures. You may find that on a different rr you get a better figure.
Who said you had an actuator problem? Surely they mean a solenoid problem? (the ones that control the actuators)

Noticed it a couple of weeks ago and the dyno confirmed it. Some bright spark wound up the pre tension to max . have managed to sort the rear one but need to get it on ramps to adjust the front one , then sync the two so they are working together rather than against each other.I'll get it sorted when I get back from me hols
