Noble page 1

Does anyone know a shortcut route to look at page 1 of the Noble forum (ie the very first page)

The forums were archived a while back if I remember correctly so the very first posts no longer exist (well are not available at least). Before PH came along though there was the yahoo groups which may give you what you were looking for.

I can remember when we were getting all excited at the prospect of reaching 1000 posts!
All the talk then was when a ball joint broke during a magazine test and the wheel collapsed.
Impatience was common with several people awaiting the release of the first 3r's
Now we are on 64000 posts. (Joust goes back to the old testament)

You can go back using the internet archive - wayback machine:
www.archive.org/web/web.php
Just type the URL in the search box, and it takes you to various archived dates.

So put www.pistonheads.com in and you get a table with available archived dates. Earliest appears to be April 2001. Just hit the link and then go to the Noble forum. It only has 8 threads on it!

The actual URL to the Noble forum is this:
http://web.archive.org/web/2001062803www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.
Except for some reason this forum software splits it into 2 URLs.
Basically copy the whole text into your web browser address bar, and then insert a / between the long number and the www.pistonheads bit (if this makes any sense)

It doesn't always work that well, but can be quite interesting to look at how the web was. Try it with your other favourite sites.
