A tough decision
Discussion
Good morning all,
this thread has nothing to do with Noble...appologies. but as a Noble owner i just wanted to ask your views. 996 GT3 RS Vs Ferrari 360 CS? my dad currently has a 996 GT3 RS(Ray at West Tuning has worked his magic on it) and is thinking about changing to a 360 CS....do you think the price difference is worth it?...is the Ferrari £30K better? both are great cars and he is still very very fond of the Porker...which makes this decision a toughy!!
just wanted to see what you knowledgable bunch thought,
Cheers
Dean

Money no object then the 360CS every time. However, don't like that ferrari F1 gear box in a road car although its probably great on track.
GT3RS will stand track abuse alot better and be much cheaper to maintain and still a great car. Toss up really but nice to be in a position to have to make that decision!

Pace is similar. Running + purchase costs and fragility aren't. You'd have to really want the Ferrari to outweigh those negatives imho. I virtually never see a CS on a trackday, whereas theres always at least one RS when I attend

hmmmm,he does enjoy trackdays too,and the Porker does feel like it could go round track forever and never have a problem. i guess there would be noise issue's with the 360 CS on track too...it does look and sound sooo good though
does anybody know rough running costs for a CS?

Challenge was one of the cars I looked into before buying the Noble.
Running and servicing at a main ferrari agent is S
T loads. However if you go to a non-franchised "specialist" I was quoted "Only" £650 for a Cam belt change!
Also expect to lose about £5K in the cars value for every non-franchised dealer stamp in your service book.
I quite liked the car but in the real world if you're going to track it go for the Porsche.
My last car was a Porsche Turbo and it took all the abuse I could throw at it and never missed a beat.
Just my two cents.
F.C.
Thanks for all the replies guy's....its nice to see what other peoples views are. however im still not sure which path he will choose,i think he should prob keep the Porker a while longer and enjoy tracking it.
Hi Chris, would love him 2 add a CSL to the driveway, but i think everybody on our road already hates us for having a Noble and GT3 RS parked on it.lol
as for him getting two Nobles...no way!! i enjoy being(as far as i know) the only 1 in the Bath area....this way i get all the attention
cheers lads,
Dean
ps.anymore views welcome though
