New ECU, but lumpy low revs-advise please

After much messing, I now have a new ECU. But at low revs it is lumpy, almost like it's firing on 5 not 6.
Does the throttle pot need setting ? If yes, is there an easy way without plugging in ?
I have put some injector cleaning stuff in the tank thinking that it might need a little clean as the fuel filter insert was inserted the wrong way round. It had been like this for 10Kmiles, so effectively had no fuel filter. The new upgraded pump had sufficient suction to suck the insert up against the filter outlet and starving the engine of fuel. Took a while to find that one !!!!
Cheers

Just had an MOT and took the opportunity to check emmissions on both banks and it looks like I have a leak somewhere. This would surely cause the rough running on idle. I have a horrid suspicion that I am shortly to buy the strengthened manifold for the rear bank. Already done on the forward bank.
