Bought “Slow Ginn” ‘s monza red m400 about 500 miles ago! Thanks Gauis, the car is great, and you were right the mountain roads of Snowdonia and NW
Wales are where this car really impresses in the handling department, at times it can be quite awesome!
Been lurking around nobles for a couple of years,
I am hoping this will scratch the itch, and give an insight of what may be coming next year?

hi gizard,
Interesting you ask this!
Just drove the same 150 mile route in the m400 (red car) as I did last month in the 997 gt3(white car) both in the dry and both occasions
With very little traffic. Bye the way these are just my observations, they are not meant to annoy anyone, both these cars are
Well worth buying, owning and enjoying for their own sake.
The red car’s current value is half that of the white car! So plenty of bangs for bucks.
The chassis, suspension and steering is extremely well balanced and reassuring, in the white car you still have small weight shift issues
To sort when entering slow to mid speed corners a little hot! The front end moves about more which all Porsche drivers eventually get used to.
However, without fiddling with the front end camber and then failing to get the weight shift just right, one can experience understeer that you
Just don’t get in the red car.
Over zealous use of the power on both cars results in very controllable oversteer, except the white car has traction although very unobtrusive
Might just save you if things go really bad.
Brakes; both very good the red cars AP’s are great, however, I have a vibration when breaking from very high speed which is now improved
Since I gave them a good hammering, but not completely eliminated. The white car has abs so I guess must be safer.
Tyres; Mich cups are softer, quicker to warm up, and generally pretty faultless. They do wear out in 3000 miles and cost £1500 to replace!
The corsa tyre is harder, slower to warm, slower to wear, and when in, sticks like glue. Cost unsure but need two rears, any ideas
How much and where??
Gearing: one of the biggest differences!! One is always at least one or often two gears higher in the red car!
Where you would be screaming out of third at 115 mph in the gt3 I tend to be dropping it in top in the 400
Red car seems happier in a slightly higher gear pulling from 3500 to 6500 rpm. The white car likes to use all >8000rpm.
Slightly different stile of driving! Oil temp seemed to prefer less revs settling between 100- 105 celcius, compared to
110 Celsius plus revving to the line.
Engine; white car has the best engine, £40k v £4k no contest, same power fantastic delivery, a real pleasure,
Red car feels like you could break it easily if you were not mechanically sympathetic.
Accom/interior; white car is a c2s or track car all in one. Red car cannot compete in this area, except it’s more comfortable for <2hrs
Than I though it might be. Being too tall, I must try and get a boss extension for the wheel and look to steal 20mm
More head room from somewhere??
Perception/image; most haven’t a clue the difference between a boulevard cruisingc4s convertible and a track focused gt3 there all just another Porsche.
However, with, the red car, no one knows what it is but they all like it a lot ! Especially the very young, which can be a bit embarrassing.
All in all a great little car which gets you over the same 150miles at the same ridiculously high speed as a 997 gt3. emotional!
Have you got yours yet???
Ps drove it to work today, 25 miles “b” roads in the wet! Very difficult to keep it tidy (rears worn out) loosing traction etc. white car much faster in these
Conditions. Would imagine irrespective of worn tyres.
Hope the above is intelligible enough, just typed as it occurred to me!!!!

Gizard,
Sorry to hear your 3’s delayed, if you ordered carbon brakes that might slow things down a little due to generally very high demand!, however,
You have waited this long, a bit longer etc etc,
I am sure you will not be disappointed… would be interested to hear how it compares with your m12 gto3 ?
