Warranties yet again

Gents,
I know it has been asked before but advice please. I know that most try to avoid paying out for anything and I have never yet managed to claim a single thing on the one that I have.
Has anybody got experience of claiming on theirs and actually getting paid out for reasonable things ?

I have an 3 year extended warranty on my Noble GTO 3R, it cost about £1100.00 or £1200. I needed a heater replaced by Noble last December, the cost was £2200 the warranty paid about £1550.00 I am already in pocket and have about 15 months warranty still to run. The reason for only paying the £1550 was they do not pay more than £45.00 per hour labour & Noble labour was £75.00 per hour + vat. Hope this is of some help to you.
Whilst I am on here as long as it does not cause a problem I am selling my car Noble GTO 3R 9400 miles, gunmetal grey metalic 2004 nice reg number GTO 3 BOS has a tracker never been tracked, good condition + warranty mentioned above that is transferrable to a new owner. Full service history from Noble factory.

I have today just bought another 2 years warranty from Kerridges (Noble dealer) I have had a 2 year one that runs out on Friday and its paid out on 2 occasions. I have more than paid for the warranty on those 2 times aswell


I get a special rate from Kerridges (about 10% off) because I bought my car from there but its still good value for money at about £450 for a year or £800 for 2 years.

It also covers everything that breaks.

It paid for a new gearbox in full.
I well extend mine hopefully when it runs out

When you say "with Kerridges" does that mean the warranty was simply bought through them or that they are underwriting it?

What sort of heater is it?

The Kerridges warranty sounds really good, whats the downside (does it inc labour?)?

Heater is buried behind dashboard, 15 hours labour at £75.00 per hour + vat + heater at £650.00 + vat.

Pretty heavy money!

I'm amazed at the labour times dealers quote.
I had my heater out and back in in just over five hours.

Was done at Noble factory not a dealer, so you would think they would have known even better the quickest way to do it.

I have just gone for the 2 year deal with Kerridges, spoke to Debbie, very helpful. Covers all mech and electrical faults(excluding W&T) no claim limit. £992.87 inc vat. It is also fully transferable to a new owner. So must add something to the resale value(if I ever sell!!) All the other deals I looked at had a claim limit of around £2500 with a similar cost.
I think it is well worth the cost, as takes the worry out of something major going pop...

Doesnt the car have to come from them tho to get the warranty? I posted on here before i bought mine and never got the same responses all i could find were poor 2k max ones which were of dubious quality. After spending 6k+ so far i wouldnt hesitate to get a warranty. May even get one now and sell it on with the car.

When I bought the M400, I purchased a warranty works 3-year platinum warranty (underwritten by Olympic warranties). Covered unlimited claims up to value of car with a maximum of £2500 per claim.

They do pay out with no fuss. They paid for my ECU as well as labour to diagnose the problem and a few other bits...came to £1600 or so. They have this stupid limit on labour rates where they don't pay more than £45 per hour. 2 ways around this...one, speak to them on the phone and say if they cap labour rate, you won't buy from them. Secondly, let your service centre know and they can help by charging a lower rate (but more hours).

A dealer warranty would be even better but I suspect you may have to buy the car from them or they need to "know" the car.

Just wanted to bump this thread back to the top to see if anyone can share any more experiences with 3rd party warranties on Nobles.

Is the general feeling still that Kerridges provide the best warranty i.e. circa £500 for 1 year to cover ALL mech and elec faults. This was my understanding when I spoke to them on the phone. It would be reassuring to know whether others have claimed using this particular warranty and whether there have been any disputes over labour costs, maximum claim etc..

For example, if I were to buy a 2004/2005 3R with say 10-20k on the clock, and the clutch goes or the turbos go pop, is there any way the warranty provider can attribute such things to 'wear and tear' and not pay up?

Obviously with all the horror stories about the cost of running a Noble, I would like to go into ownership 'fully covered' so to speak, i.e. not have to worry about shelling out for anything apart from petrol and tyres during ownership.

Clutch IS a wear and tear item, so wont be covered.
I know someone on here has had the gearbox done under the Kerridges warrenty with no problems.
I have the 2 year deal...not had to claim yet.

Worth it for peace of mind, but remember ball joints, pads, discs, clutches, wont be covered and can add up. plus servicing = not a cheap car to run.
