Help with turbo induction pipe!

Hi fella's,

I am in the process of putting some Nimbus heat shield underneath the intercooler box. Whilst doing it I have noticed that the induction pipe (Flexi) from the air filter to the turbo has a hole in it!!! PANTS

It looks like it has perished over time due to the heat build up.

Has any one on here changed theirs for another type of pipe?

If so where can I get it?

Any help would be appreciated as I'm looking at using this weekend!!

my front one was full of holes due to clumsy fitters, i just wrapped it with ally tape and decided to get some hard pipes made in the winter.

My noticed that my front pipe had gone when I changed the lambda. I also just repaired it.

The only problem with this one is that it is flexi and the structure has been compromised (Can see that the wire structure has snapped under the plastic). Defo change of pipe!!

This stuff works well, and it is a lot more heat resistant.

I was going to order some Nimbus, how are you fixing it, and did you find somewhere cheaper than D Tweaks ?

Rob, I can get it direct from the supplier, cost is about 60% of the DT price. PM me if you want me to order some for you, only thing is you will have to collect from london(or a Noble meet some time.
Best way to fix it is with some nuts and bolts with a couple of washers in between the IC box and the Nimbus.

Rob,

I did what Alex has suggested. I have placed a sheet on the underneath and a sheet on the top surface. I drilled a few equal spaced holes through the lot and secured the lot with nuts and bolts. I placed one washer on the bottom and one on the top to get a good purchase on the sheets.

I don't seem to have any clearance issue's with the turbo and it all looks pretty neat!!

It doesn't take long to do as the Nimbus sheet is very flexible and easy to cut. Whilst I was at it I re painted the chassis bars that support the intercooler box (Already done the main bars). All in all a very worth while job.
