Tell me all the problems associated with GTO-3Rs

Touchy arent we. I can cope with niggles dont get me wrong but need to walk into any ownership situation eyes wide open.
I openly list the downsides of my current car if people ask (you will find I help run z3mcoupe.com).
Useful posts welcomed or are all Gto3rs all perfect ?

Diffs on the early car can fail but there is an optional LSD available directly form Noble, this LSD is the standard one that came on all the cars with the six peed gearbox. The 5 speed transmission can suffer from difficult changes, this can be solved by having the linkage properly adjusted."

Do you pride yourself on being unable to use the search facility and expecting others to do it for you? Why not apply a little elbow grease of your own rather than expecting others to run around at your behest. Do you guys pride yourselves on being unhelpful ?

I've often wondered if all the information you can now get on the interweb is not more of a hinderance than a help when it comes to this type of thing. Let me give you an example :
I bought my first Esprit about 15 years ago (before the days of mass net usage). I had no idea what to look for, what things might go wrong, what it was going to cost me to run and so on. All I knew was that I really wanted one so I took the plunge and bought it. When I bought a V8 Esprit ( 3 years ago ) I'd been on all the forums for years by then and knew all about the issues, the large bills you might get, what things might go wrong, what it would cost etc. They did go wrong and it cost me a lot of money, but hey-ho, there you go.
Moving on to a Noble I did not really do that much research. If you do it will scare you off, failing ECUs at over £2k to replace, a new clutch at £2.5 cus the engine comes out ( I did not know that when I bought my Nob ), diffs snapping, all sorts really.
So, my point ( long winded as it may be ) is that sometimes you get too much information and if you listend to all the horror stories ( not just Noble, but Lotus, Porkers, Ferraris and so on ) you'd never buy anything.

Cheers for the info on gearboxes, I thought the issue may have been limited to the cpi car I was driving.
As for the thread we set up a FAQ part of the M Coupe forum as over time the same questions got asked over and over which is why I can see certain people's frustration at such a post as mine.
Known issues would take someone with long term knowledge to type a quick list .... but it's easier to have a go than help out ??? Shame really. Thanks again to those who have tried to assist. Maybe the Noble community is a less friendly place than the one I reside in at the moment - for info I'll be keeping the BM and the Noble would be an addition.
