advice on sump
Discussion
Hi guys just to Introduce myself Jerrie from isle of wight just bought maself a noble m12 3r and love it havnt stopped grinning yet. Anyways i have been looking threw here for tips and advice but cant seem to find anything (apart from its a must have ) on how to tell if your car has a trackday sump. is this a standard fit on 3r ???? also anyone else coming along to donington on 24th oct ifso see you there thanks for any advice in advance
Welcome Jerrie! A TDS is a Noble option but necessary protection for track use. The TDS sits lower to the ground than a standard sump, protruding below the lower frame bars. Look underneath and if you see a shiny welded box protruding out of the bottom of the engine you have one!
IMHO, TDS's fitted from new are best. Some were retro-fitted requiring the frame to be cut to allow for fitment - this shows up clearly on inspection. Don't worry if yours has a TDS and IS cut as it is perfectly safe, just some people prefer no cuts.
