Wouldn't it be nice to be in a position to call them budget supercars? Out of those 3 I would have taken the Porsche (still can't believe I'm saying that, but my God, I have never lusted after a porker more then that 997 GT3 RS cloud9).

Seriously thinking of taking a holiday to that area in the 205 next summer.

Was there 3 weeks ago...IMO stelvio is a waste of time, too busy with bikes, tourists, cross country skiers training and mountain bikers, too twisty(some 3 point turns in the Noble) there are far far better passes, we did 19 in all over 4 days, so if you want some info feel free to ask. Juliet Pass into St. Moritz is one that is deffo worth doing.
We do this trip every year and refining it as we go, next year Stelvio is off the list.
I agree the GT3 would be a great car for this, however the Noble did very well smile
Anyone up for next year??

I did Stelvio a few years ago in convoy with fellow PHer MikeN in his M12. On the north side I trounced him in my MX-5, as previously said it is far too twisty for Nobles and needs three point turns (or a handbrake and a dose of opposite lock wink ) to get around - I was at the summit several minutes before the Noble.

The descent into Italy was much more supercar friendly - I think MikeN had found a restaurant, ordered and finished his starter and a bottle of Chianti before I appeared...

In brief - in a Noble approach from (and descend to)the Italian side and you will have fun. The standard Alpine pass advice also applies - make an early start before the campers, shed-draggers and cyclists have woken from their slumber. Dont write it off - I will be back and will also tackle the Grossglockner that is not too far away.

....Anyone up for next year?

May well be up for that, are others allowed like an Elise?

My mate and I were talking about possibly doing it next year.

This year was a Noble, VX220 turbo, Audi S3, and lancia Intergrale.
So any car(that wont hold us up) is welcome.

Bear in mind we stay in budget hotels and do a lot of driving(spend the money on fuel wink )
Will post some vid as soon as i work out how to shrink the vid file...any tips anyone?

Just the way I like it, the hotels are just for getting your head down so why pay over the odds.
