It's only a small point but as I havent had chance to go to a noble meet yet I havent had chance to compare notes . The key I got with the car is a ford key (obviously) but with the oval bit missing . did this originally have a Noble inlay in this ovel hole ? I've also seen a picture of a metal keyring that reads "Noble" with a scewdriver built into the end , should this have come with the car ? Lastly (sorry) the immobiliser bypass fob doesnt seem to work ....any clues why , is a battery involved or something ? ...thanks in advance everybody !

Question 1..... nope

Question 2..... nope...but you can buy them as I did but they are too big to be used as a key ring IMO.

Question 3..... if your fob is not working how are you gaining entry to the car ? If it unlocks the car then the battery must be ok I think.

Cheers for the quick reply ! ...sorry , I didnt properly explain the last point ...there is a grey fob with some brass terminals that you can mate up to the dash in order to allow the engine to start but it doesnt work , I currently have to blip the door unlocking one . This grey fob doesnt look like it has batteries inside it , I just wondered whether anyone has any ideas as to why it doesnt work cos usually , if one noble has a problem , they all do ! .....thanks again

Your grey fob with brass terminals is a manual overide for the immob. You'll find the contacts for the fob on the LHS of the driver's side, near your knee.

Someone on here reproduced the NOBLE metal keyring as they were in demand and the factory no longer
had any. They were a bit big but seriously flash.

Hi Nigel,
Is your grey override thing on your keyring? If so you probably need to remove it before trying to get it to work. As far as I know, you've got to put the key in the ignition and turn on the ignition and leave it on - 2 clicks round (nothing happens) before touching the grey thing on the terminals mounted in the dash - ignition comes to life, fuel pump primes etc.. Then push the engine start. You've probably already tried this, but just a thought that if it's still on the keyring, you won't get it to work.

Thanks Conrad ....I've just been out and tried it but , unfortunately , it doesnt work , so i think that there may be a fault with the wiring ...But thanks for your help and advice !

A carbonkeyring is something we have never made due to the relative high cost of materials and people being unwilling to pay, however, there are companies that will make very good quality keyrings (like the one's Leven Technology used to do, but they usually need a reasonable volume to make the design/moulding process pay it's way.

I will ask my contacts and see what I can come up with.

At the same time I will see if we can do something about the look of those Fraud Escort keys. If anything says kitcar it's things like that. A badge in the middle is probably the cheapest solution, but again volumes will be an issue. It's a shame the factory won't be interested as that would help with persuading people to make stuff (everyone wants to have O.E. manufacturer on their CV).

I always thought it would be smart to have a key CNC machined from titanium with Noble engraved into it , but , with the actual key part being different for each key it might prove impractical ?

Nigel, AFAIR, the grey fob does not ever need to be used as switching the ignition on-off-on and then pressing the start button does the same thing - ie: switches off the immobiliser. Try it and see.

I dont know why Rob , but mine doesnt ! ...the only way to take the immobiliser off for me at the moment is to lock and unlock the door . This leaves me dangerously exposed to the reliability of the door "blipper" (which , to be fair , has been 100 % ) .....thanks for your help

OK, try what I said but remove the key from the ignition - ie: turn on/ign lights on - turn off/remove key - key back in and start...

I did , but it wont play ball ...the manual says it should work as you say , but it doesn't ....the grey fob doesnt seem to use a battery so I assume either it or the car loom is faulty .....Rats !
