Dear All,
Its taken some time but here's the plot. Standard AER engine, imported, stripped, inspected and finished by John Noble Motorsports. GT28rs turbos, Faulks IC, standard inlets, free flow exhaust, helix clutch, strengthened gearbox, Omex ecu, installed by Plans Motorsport and back again to John Noble Motorsports for a map. My requirement was for adequate power and longevity. Having driven it once I can confirm the first requirement has been acheived.
If someone knows how to post this to the list please do but all I can manage is a link.

Looks very good Paul, nice torque curve.
Are you taking advantage of any of the extra I/O on the omex?
Can I ask who did the loom?
Alex
The loom is a UK M400 loom that's now been thoroughly hacked about by John Shorrocks at Plans. I think in retrospect it might have been cheaper to have made one from scratch. It would certainly have been prettier! Are you taking advantage of any of the extra I/O on the omex?

Yes I'll be monitoring / logging everything you'd expect straight from the ECU. More on that later.

Paul, did you go for the 3L that looks just like the 2.5? Also, out of interest what was the cost for engine, strip, inspection and rebuild (you can email me that if you prefer). Is the gearbox a 5spd and was it just shot peened (not sure how to spell that)?

No its a straight out of the box AER USA spec M400 engine. Moving from the 2.5 to the 3.0 was very expensive in terms of changed ancillaries. I did not learn about the 3.0 litre that looks like a 2.5 litre until after I'd committed. In retrospect I'd probablyhave saved a whole stack full of money if I'd just stuck with the bored out 2.5 shell.
The engine is USD4,000. I do not know what the shipping would be as I have a special arrangement. There was import tax. The whole thing cost me (at 1:8dollars to the pound - very different now) £3,300 delivered to my door.
Strip inspect and rebuild you'd have to speak to Peter Dibble at JNM as I assume it varies according to what they advise doing. I decided not to have stronger springs and kept the USA spec pistons.
Plans sorted the gearbox, its a 6 speed and yes the gear cluster is shot peened.
