Temperature Gauge

Hello guys,

Noticed today that after I took the car for a spin I let it idle in the drive. Noticed the temperature guage on the dash all over the place. The needle movement was very quick from side to side. Would it be a sensor problem or something like that?

Anything to worry about?

The temperature signal to the guage is generated by the cars ECU.
Better to get it checked out sooner rather than later.

Sounds like an intermittent connection on the temp sensor. I think that there is a failsafe built in to the ECU(MBE) that in the event of a failure in the temp sensor or connecting wires then it goes full scale to protect the engine (I think, please correct me if I'm wrong). If you have the Noble diagnostics software then you can check what the ECU is reading from the sensor.
