A quick question if I may.

What should the oil pressure be on my M400 at tickover when hot?

Thanks
Andrew

my psi is low too on tickover when the engine is warm. I know when oil warms up, it becomes easier for it to be pumped around the engine so less psi is needed.

Would it be dangerous to reconfigure the psi so it stays relatively high on tickover? apart from lowering the life of the oil pump, what are the other downsides of keeping the oil psi high all the time?

surely keeping a high psi of oil flowing around the engine is a good thing? or am i wrong?

Too high a pressure will place a strain on the oil seals. 15psi is quite sufficient at tickover. As long as all the important places are getting a fresh supply of oil and being lubricated then there are no issues.

Mine seems to run at circa 50 at 3k but at a slow tickover was as low as 11, just above the first increment.

Should I be worried, it's only done 5k miles. No nasty noises or anything.

'Bout the same as mine, which has now got 28K on the clock - so don't worry.
