MOT Failure - Front suspension joint
Discussion
All, looking for a bit of help
My MOT failed today, only bought the car three weeks ago and yes, the missus did ask why I didn't get a fresh ticket on it from the previous owner, I think I couldn't wait. Anyhows...
"Offside front suspension joint has excessive play in a lower suspension ball joint [2.5.B.1a]"
What do I need to buy & part no?
I'm not mechanically minded so any help would be great.
Thanks, Lee.

If you're not 'mechanically minded' then I do what I do - take it to a dealer and pay them to fix it.

The MOT place did not know the part no for the failed item, they guessed at Ford and rang them but they informed the mechanic it's not Ford but specifically Noble.
So to speed this up (I have free re-test within 10 days), I thought I'd ask on here.
I did find posts on here regarding ball joints (if that indeed what needs replacing) that appear to be Peugeot in origin but these needed machining as they were 5mm out.
I have registered with nobleparts.co.uk and am currently waiting for access.
Again, thanks for any and all replies

You're the man - thanks a lot.
For 3R:
Top front ball joints are from a Peugeot or Citreon and are the "C" type, Quinton hazel part no QSJ1184S
Bottom front ball joints are from Mk1 Vauxhall Cavalier
I'll pass this onto the mechanic and let him do the rest.
Anyone feel free to correct me if necessary....
BTW, car's still awesome but I do need more grip at the rear (currently running on 265,35,18 Bridgestone Potenza S-03)

Lee, you'll find a post by me on nobleparts about ball joint plinths which may help you.
Yours were cracked right down the middle
Noble should know where all these parts come from I would have thought. I asked them for a wiring diagram for the heater/aircon and they sent me more than enough information to sort my problem out.
I'm getting a bit worried about Noble-specific bits that are going to be a pig to get hold of if the rumours about the company emigrating come true.

I bought a lower front suspension joint from Kerridges for £40 inc postage and had it fitted. Mechanic had to persuade it in (shaved a bit off).
These are the details which I took off the box:
Delphi Lockheed TJ03A for Opel/Vauxhall
MOA1-03-2170-I

Any chance you could put it on the noble parts website with costs.
Cheers
