Hi,
I'm currently looking at Nobles for sale.
Is there an easy way to find out is the car in question has LSD?
If it doesn't have one, is it possible to retro fit it?

hi kenny,
all six speeds have LSD, some 5 speeds do but not many, most have open diff - can break. most 3r's have 6 speed, but some early ones don't. all m400's do though.

Easy way to tell is to give it some beans and spin the wheels...a big black 11 says LSD.

Not really - apparently some have 'LSD' daubed on them. Best way to check is the documentation. Something that big should be in the owner's records.

Yes, at a cost. Mine cost around 2.6K, and that was using the labour-reducing method of taking the gearbox out sideways through a cut chassis member. Expect anything up to 4K for the engine out method.

Just had one fitted and noticed the car understeers quite a bit compared to the open diff. Replaced because it broke, as do most of them at some point. Quaife LSD has a lifetime guarantee so they must be fairly confident of their product.

Has anyone known any LSD of any make to break on the Noble?

The car i'm looking at is a 3R (53 plate) 6 speeder - so that means its got LSD as standard judging by the reponses :-)
