Since having the car re-mapped, have been toying with ways to reduce the intake air temp. ( getting a bit high on full chat on dyno run ), this was mainly due to the boost being adj.
The car already benefits from the pace uprated intercooler, so possible alternatives are, fit the pro-alloy double intercooler, or try to improve air flow across the existing one.
One way of doing this would be to remove the number plate to allow for better flow.
My questions are: has anyone already done this with good results, is it legal to fit a stick-on number plate lower down on the rear clam, and seeing as the rear mesh has already been drilled for the plate, I would need to replace this to make it look better, any suggestions of what to use.
Steve.

I shall be mounting my number plate inside the whale tail. Internally lit, with a lexan cover to retain the outside profile. Moulds already made......

Steve.
1. Get the Pro Alloy intercooler
2. Move your number plate down like in the picture below
3. Get some decent heat shield under the IC box (preferably 2 layers with air gap in between)
4. Do the tunnel cooling mod at the front of the car which helps keep the front turbo cooler

How do you stand with regards the rear number plate light, if the plate is moved down then the light will be useless, or is this something that people don't worry about.
Was thinking about heatshield around the I/C box.

Nimbus GII is the stuff you want. Makes a massive difference.

Steve.
It'll be no longer illuminating the plate, and should therefore fail the MOT, but i don't suppose many people will worry about it..

You can bet your pension if it will fail the MOT then it will be spotted by the MOT place.

Well, have just ordered a new smaller plate to fit lower down, how about the "Noble" badge, should I re-site that to the left of the clam?
The last time my car was mot'd it went through without the cat on it, so hopefully my mot man will turn a blind eye.

I thought emissions were all real-time logged so it's not that easy to fiddle them ?

Why not, bit obvious anyway..

Just do the emissions test on a 2nd vehicle.

Spot on, but I didn't argue.
Anyway, back on track, I will need to renew the mesh, any thoughts about what to use, and where to obtain said mesh.

I love the look of your rear end (car I mean!)... and I adore those wheels you and Adrian have... were did they come from and what was the spec?

I have a guy who makes up alloy rads and intercoolers for really good prices (he made 2 large alloy rads for my car for under £500) using pace cores etc (he used to work for Pace) so may well be tempted to get a bigger one installed.
Does the std 3L benefit from an upgraded unit or is it only worth it with a remap?

If you do an upgraded rad I would be interested.

Make sure you put in some flexible mounts to prevent cracking as this seems to be a known problem.
