What's standard boost pressure

Does anyone know what boost is on a 3R and a 400 as standard?

I thought 0.9 was one of the 'fixes' that got used to try to get M400's near their quoted output, and the standard was 0.85.

My turbos have just been tested by Turbo Technics and together will produce 0.84 bar

Thanks guys. Mine is set at 10 psi on the low boost setting so thats perfect. High boost will be set at 15psi when I get used to the new turbos.

I'd go for much lower boost on the low setting if you want to feel any major difference. I get 400bhp on 0.5 bar and 500bhp+ on 1.2bar. Can't remember the torque figures but it was probably a similar ratio. Giving the choice I'd have boost that produced <300bhp on low if I wanted to make it safer in the damp. As it is there's more than enough power on either setting to 'wake you up' every so often if the road surface isn't good!

With the instant boost of the VNT's the power seems normally aspirated so I might drop low boost a bit. That way I will get the kick that the extra boost delivers.

We are still only on the 'try it' phase at the moment and lets say being the first customer car meant we did all the pioneering work.

Mine was only making 0.45 boost before, but then with all the cracks in the manifolds Im hardly surprised.

BigGriff was the 0.45 showing on the boost gauge or did you find that from another source and the gauge was showing "normal" boost?

thanks phill. whats the spool like on them?? also what the max flow ratings for the turbos?? im guessing about 600bhp with the pair.

I think Adrian and Trevor have proved that around 600bhp is the max yes.

Spool is very quick. Probably faster than a standard 3R in fact.

wow thats very good! the GT series is a great series of turbos. they are still up there with the very (often hybrids) best.

I beleive the m400 turbo's are a T25 housing with a T28 compressor wheel

Mine are the new T28VNT's. Big Jobs! with variable nozzle turbines.

The 0.45 was from the guage.
