Took my car to be rolling roaded today, knowing that it didnt feel 100% i did expect there to be something not right, as i suspected it was running way too much boost, 1.3 bar and russel at wallace performance said he was very surprised i hadn't melted a piston or any major problems because it was running dangerously lean, to the point where he refused to do a power run above 5000rpm, he adjusted the boost down to 0.8bar and it made 360hp with 300lb torque with the fuelling in a far safer state until its safe to turn it back up a bit, surprisingly the car feels much smoother and just as quick as before upto 70 anyway.
would i be right in saying i need to buy a new fuel pump and do the re-wiring i have heard people talk about?
What fuel pump do you guys recommend i upgrade to and what do i need to do about the wiring?

Bosch 044 pump. But be aware that it is a noisey bugger.
Wiring upgrade is very simple and just need a relay, fuse and some decent 20amp cable, use the original feed to the pump for the switch on the relay, and take the new feed from either the battery or starter motor (remember to install a fuse at the battery or starter end)

Did they say why it was running that amount of boost? Botched upgrade or some kind of problem with the turbo system?would i be right in saying i need to buy a new fuel pump and do the re-wiring i have heard people talk about?

Is yours an M400 as 360bhp is not bad for a GTO3.

360bhp isn't unheard of in a M400 either.My car is an M400, getting it sorted next friday and put the boost back up a wee bit, maybe 1 bar, not the 1.3 it was before, its got a manual boost controller fitted because the electronic one was apparently tempramental.
I think im yet to experience the full power of the beast, manifolds split and blown gaskets etc etc in the first couple weeks of ownership, quite fancy getting a bigger intercooler and a re-map once iv got the thing running properly.

Experience in the U.S. is that a manual boost controller can be incompatible with the ECU adaptive maps.
That is, the ECU does not "recognize" that component in the engine control system, and it will try to "correct" for it by changing the adaptive maps. The result is a motor that does not run well--i.e., bad AFRs and boost control.
Best to stay with stock systems to keep the ECU from acting up.
