I,m getting a very slight ticking noise from my car which I'm told could be the handbrake dragging. Tried it today down a hill turned the ignition off and at very low speed coasted and there it was again. Cant tell if its from the front or the back but it does seem to get better if I apply the handbrake very slightly.
Question is what else could it be and how do I adjust the handbrake anyway.

Cheers

Steve

I had some handbrake probs too when I got mine, although mine was crap. I tried adjusting it but it was still bad and found had been over adjusted at some point and wrecked the shoes on one side (one friction side was in the bottom of the drum)yikes
I recommend taking off both rear discs and checking the shoes, if OK adjust in the wheels. You do need to slacken off the cable which is behind a cover in the tunnel behind the passenger seat first, adjust each wheel individually (through the hole in the disc) so the handbrake is just off when adjusted up and then set the cable tension.
Mine been perfect since...

jack the car up and see if the wheels are dragging

it could also be a CV joint on one of the driveshafts
